UF Shands Acquires ICE Institute Properties for $8.3 Million

Workers were busy Wednesday removing signage on one of Ocala's higher profile commercial real estate properties on Hwy 200. UF Shands paid $8.3 million for three properties it purchased out of bankruptcy court. The properties were formerly owned by the Institute of Cardiovascular Excellence (ICE) and included two medical offices totaling 32,203sf and 2.27 acre vacant lots in Paddock Downs. ICE and it's owner made national headline news when the Justice Department disputed it's Medicare reimbursements.
